In Come Back Kate, Blood Ruby's Cynthia Conrad talks about the influence of British singer/songwriter Kate Bush on her own music. One such song is "Light & Shadow," a conceptual piece based upon Cynthia's poem "Cinemaphobia." While the song exhibits Blood Ruby's trademark sound, Kate's influence can be found throughout, from its high-concept themes to its creative use of sound effects to Cynthia's vocal delivery.
